Paul and Jill’s June 2010 Review

There was no reason to do a summary of Encantada as all of the remaining units had been sold off to a Vacation Club / Timeshare company but as this cancellation has just come back onto the market I have put together my own and Jill's latest thoughts on the development just in case any more come available again.

The location of Encantada really is second to none, only 5 mins to Disney and you can actually walk to a Houlihans bar / restaurant on the 192 if you don't feel like taking the car.  If you are happy to drive then all of "our own holiday favourites" are literally within 3-5 minutes of your home.  There is an Olive Garden, Carrabas, Outback Steakhouse, Red Lobster, TGI Fridays and all of the other attractions of Highway 192 only minutes away, as you can see everything really is on your doorstep.  When you consider we drive 10 mins from Ridgewood Lakes at least 7 nights of our holiday to eat in these restaurants then no more justification of Encantada's location is necessary - the location will be a massive appeal to you and your renters.

The development itself really does have the feel of a Five Star Resort.  As soon as you drive through the entrance you get the feeling you are staying in an up market resort.  The homes are well spaced out around the lake; the clubhouse is really smart with the gym, arcade for the kids and the lounge area is particularly relaxing.  There are 2 pools at the back of the clubhouse and although they weren't that busy there were enough people there to create an atmosphere.  I don't know if any of you have stayed at Disney Vacation Club resorts before (it does hurt your bank balance if you stay for more than a few days) but we stayed at Saratoga Springs last year and Encantada had a similar feel in that you were close enough to all of the attractions but were far enough away to still get a tranquil feel about the place.

The fact that this cancellation backs onto the lake is like having the cream on top - for $175k including a $20k furniture package which actually makes your net price $155k for a 4 bed home on the lake with all of these facilities is great value, even in this depressed market as these used to sell for $350k.
